Hydropower offers several advantages as a renewable energy source:

Renewable and Sustainable: Hydropower relies on the water cycle, which is a naturally replenished resource. As long as there is rainfall and rivers, hydropower can be generated continuously, making it a renewable and sustainable energy option

Clean and Environmentally Friendly: Hydropower is a clean source of energy as it produces negligible greenhouse gas emissions during operation. Unlike fossil fuels, it does not release carbon dioxide or other pollutants that contribute to air pollution and climate change. It helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels and mitigates the environmental impact of energy production.

Reliable and Consistent: Hydropower plants can provide a reliable and consistent source of electricity because water flow can be controlled. By adjusting the water flow through turbines, the power output can be regulated to match the demand. This stability is particularly valuable for meeting base load electricity requirements and ensuring grid stability.
